A Diversified Community with Great Amenities
The neighbourhood of Maples is a lovely residential community in Winnipeg's North West End.
The diversified landscape is only matched by the community's diversified population, as the area is wonderfully multicultural.
This area of Winnipeg lies west of McPhillips Street and North of Inkster Blvd. and consists of relatively newer neigbourhoods and has had significant development in the past 20 years.

Though single detached homes are the majority, small buildings are also prevalent and semi-detached properties, large condo complexes make up the remainder of the landscape.

Jefferson Avenue which passes through the neighbourhood's heart features most shopping and commercial amenities necessary, restaurants as well.

Parks and Recreation

The neighbourhood of Maples, boasts multiple neighbourhood parks, lots of recreation activities to delight families living there.

The Maples Recreation Association operates three community centres including;

  • Maples Community Centre
  • Maples Multiplex Arena
  • Elwick Community Centre
  • James Nisbit

Maples Community Centre
The Maples community centre is housed indoor sports and is also available for social events. 

Maples Multiplex Arena

The Maples multiplex arena houses a league-sized skating rink from September to March and hosts hockey and ringette practises, league games, clinics and tournaments. In the summer the venue is available for indoor sports and social events.

Elwick Community Centre
The Elwick community center is home to Cricket Park and an outdoor seasonal and outdoor seasonal rink and James Nisbit accommodates a nursery program.

The Adsum site includes two outdoor basketball courts and two outdoor rinks, a children's jungle gym, a baseball diamond and various other playing fields.




The Maples community is managed by the Seven Oaks School Division which includes seven schools;

  • Arthur E. Wright School (k-8)
  •  Ecole Constable Edward Finney School (k-5)
  •  Ecole Leila North Community School (6-8)
  •  Elwick Community School (K-8)
  •  James Nisbet Community School (K-5)
  •  Maples Collegiate (9-12)
  • O.V. Jewitt Community School (K-8).
This district also offers English/Hebrew and English/Ukrainian programs and various languages are offered in after-school programs.
